Caving was super fun--sort of like canyoning. You're in a wetsuit and harness once again, but this time with a headlight! Monica & I abseiled down this hole into the cave, zip-lined into the darkness, innertubed and waded in the water, admired the beauty of the glow worms, and did a little climbing on limestone.

PwC sent us to DISNEYWORLD!! Stayed at the Grand Floridian, where we got to check out Pleasure Island, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, & MGM. Magic Kingdom has a bigger castle than Disneyland I suppose--but I still say that Disneyland back at home is superior :) Tower of Terror here is better I think, but they don't even have Indiana Jones!! Disney makes me so happy no matter how corporate they are

mmp_mkr(69,"San Gabriel River, East Fork","fun river to hike/play around. there's a dirt path but we always walk along the river--really hot during the summer but that's what the water's for :) be sure to invest in those aqua/beach shoes--they're about 5$ at target/walmart. one of my favorite pairs of shoes of all time! they're awesome, and great for walking in/along the river
ps: watch out for snakes. i get so creeped out because i can hear them rattling in the bushes...i think you're safe on the river though

our hiking sticks. helps when you cross the river..it's gushy and deep at some parts, so just be strong and you'll make it across :)
mini waterfalls along the way
lesson on how to go through a river during the summer: in your bikini or trunks (it's hot), make a cape out of your shirt to protect your shoulders (really hot), slathe on sunblock and bring extra for reapplications, don't put all your weight on your step--feel to make sure the rocks aren't wobbly first, use hiking stick for balance. proceed with caution--the river gets much deeper than depicted. be weary of where to cross!

Did a cultural and language exchange for two months in Nagoya. Took language classes and stayed with a host family--my first experience living abroad. Was an amazing two months--difficult to remember because it was almost surreal.

so i got a chance to do a bunch of stuff there aside from learning japanese...such as making a flower arrangement
doing some calligraphy
sparring (that's right, be scurred..haha)

i also did a week exchange with another family..though i hate myself for not remembering where. anyway, they were super nice--here are my host parents
